Voldemort - Origins of the Heir! – He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is back!
You-know-who has terrorized Harry Potter and Pottermaniacs for
over a decade. I have been a proud Potter fan, always, and I still do catch up
on re-runs of the HP series whenever it comes on TV.
And naturally I was all excited when I watched the Voldemort
Origin’s fan-made trailer on Facebook (Thank you FB sponsored ads).
Who knows Netflix might take up this noble fan-made creation and
turn it in to a full-fledged series that might win them some awards the coming
year at the Emmy’s.
Irrespective of the fate of the series, Tom Riddle’s metamorphosis
in to Voldemort deserves a screen rendition at any cost. And looking at the
beautifully produced trailer, we – Potter fans - can’t wait to watch the entire
series.
The trailer begins with the voiceover of a lady talking about the
mysterious ways of Tom Riddle and also about the year of the scandal. In 1943,
a common house-elf was convicted for murdering his house-mistress. This was
briefly discussed by Dumbledore in the movies and later Harry had to destroy
one of the horcruxes embedded inside a cup belonging to Helena Hufflepuff.
The voiceover belongs to the heir of Gryffindor who vows to find
out the whereabouts the infamous Tom Riddle and unearth the mysteries of the
death of Helena Hufflepuff. Now, this is one new fictional-character we have
never heard of before.
What is to be seen is if a younger Dumbledore will cross paths
with Tom Riddle or Gryffindor’s heir.
It’s evident that in the battle among heirs, the one that remained
victorious is Tom Riddle aka Lord Voldemort. But it will be surely interesting
to know how he got there in the first place.
At the very end of the trailer, we are introduced to yours truly –
Lord Voldemort, but in his Tom Riddle avatar. And I must admit, he does look
scary and intimidating. It would be interesting to see how passionate fans
turned creators of Voldemort Origins deal with the pressure and expectations
associated with anything to do with Harry Potter.
Remember, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them’ suffered
miserably at the
Box Office as a result of direct comparisons with the Harry Potter
series.
Finally after getting involved in legal complications, Voldemort
Origins has got the green light from Warner Bros. The highly anticipated series
is all set to release on Youtube.
Till then let us all enjoy re-runs of our beloved Harry potter
franchise, which I am doing right now!
