The Road!

Image
A single object or situation can be interpreted in different ways by different people. Something that seems joyous to one can be interpreted differently by a third person. It all comes down to an individual’s sense of perception. Similarly there can be different experiences associated with a common place. In the following post, I have tried to bring together three different experiences associated with a common place, in reference of this post, the road! Three different short stories/ experiences based on – The Road! The Face on the Road! The Road #1 He jogged for miles with his new jogging mate They enjoyed watching the bickering couple, The cute dog chasing them every single day, The road was a perfect remedy for an otherwise depressed and lonely mind. Until one day, a familiar face greeted him in the papers A face he saw every morning was dead for over a year!  Will you marry me?  The Road #2 He waited for days to pop the question Aft...

Weddings and Me!

So the dreaded wedding season is upon us. Most of us have already exceeded our last year’s record of attending the maximum number of weddings in a month, while some of us (like myself) are done giving excuses for not attending weddings (because that’s just who we are as a person). In India, attending a wedding is an annual ritual and there is no family that can claim of not having attended a single wedding in a calendar-year. What to wear, how to go to the marriage hall, are some of the pertinent questions that arise, just before the wedding.  Sometimes a family is pressed with difficult choices to make when there’s more than one wedding to attend in a single day. # DearZindagi  ~ Life meets Art ~  # MyTake  on the Movie There are very few movies (Bollywood movies) that stay with you even after you exit the cinema-hall. Dear Zindagi falls exactly into that bracket. It's a refreshing take on one of the most complicated subjects in the universe and that is Life! The best part of the movie is it teaches you a lot about life without being preachy. Some of it you already know, but never hit the pause button to ponder over it. It's like that missing jigsaw puzzle Jug (SRK) talks about. It fits in perfectly and makes you stop and reflect for a moment to try to bring things together. A slice of life movie that can connect with everyone (Well almost, everyone!). After what seems like eternity, we finally get to see SRK the actor and not the star we all had started to despise. Dear Zindagi needed SRK the actor to add some depth in to the proceedings. His mature turn as - Jug the therapist -is what might set th...

My two bits on India's premature exit from the World Cup. And yes, we will support team India no matter what! The hopes of a million rested on his shoulders. He hoped for a miracle, he hoped to get everyone out! Just then the ball dashed out of the stadium and with it dashed the hopes of a million to make it to the finals.

Well here goes. After being pestered by so many people I have finally decided to re-start my blog. I will try to keep the blog relevant and updated as much as possible. So here goes my first blog post. Something which was termed as an act of God but certainly is an act of greed. Based on the latest Kolkata fly-over tragedy here are few words that describe my feelings about the incident. "I gave you life, I gave you nature, I gave you everything! You built the bridges, you destroyed the forests, you tried to control it all. Yet when things went wrong, you called it an act of God." #ActofGod #PrayforKolkata
